Lettera relativa ai lavori da svolgere per scavare un pozzo nella casa di George Sand situata nel villaggio di Nohant, nel dipartimento francese dell'Indre: “Madame Nous avons eu l’honneur de recevoir de Monsieur A. Adam communication d’une lettre dans laquelle vous manifeste le desir de connaitre notre opionion sur la possibilité d’obtenir, par un forage, des eaux jaillissantes, dans votre propriete de Nohan”. Segue una lunga descrizione della situazione geologica di Nohant accompagnata da un bello schizzo che illustra la regione. ‘Monsieur A. Adam’, citato all’inizio della lettera, è Antoine Edmond Adam, 1816–1877, prefetto di polizia, in seguito senatore a vita, dal 1867 marito di Juliette, nata Lambert, scrittrice e femminista, amica e sostenitrice di George Sand.

Map of the location drawn on the first page; on the lower margin “Madame Georges Sand a Nohan pres La Chatre Indre”. Date at the head “Paris, le 29 Juillet 1870”, signature on the second page. Good condition.
Letter relating to the work to be carried out to dig a well in the house of George Sand located in the village of Nohant, in the French department of Indre: “Madame Nous avons eu l'honneur de recevoir de Monsieur A. Adam communication d'une lettre dans laquelle you express your desire to confirm our opinion on the possibility of obtaining, for a forage, des eaux jaillissantes, dans votre property of Nohan”. There follows a long description of the geological situation of Nohant accompanied by a nice sketch illustrating the region.'Monsieur A. Adam', mentioned at the beginning of the letter, is Antoine Edmond Adam, 1816–1877, prefect of police, later senator for life, from 1867 husband of Juliette, nee Lambert, writer and feminist, friend and supporter of George Sand.
