About the artist: Olga Vladimirovna Malysheva was born on February 24, 1920 in Feodosia. In 1940 she graduated from the Moscow Textile Institute, studied with L. A. Bruni and A. V. Kuprin. From 1940 to 1945 she worked in a monumental workshop at the Academy of Architecture of the USSR under the direction of L. A. Bruni.
In 1956 she started working with ceramics. Since 1957 she began to participate in exhibitions. Working at the Konakovsky faience factory named after V.I. M. I. Kalinina (Tver region), created the vase "Sport",
which was repeatedly replicated and exhibited at exhibitions. For the late 1950s, this vase was a fundamentally new phenomenon, as the artist strove to move away from the traditional approach to form and painting, resorting to more modern techniques - generalized conventional painting, supplemented with relief and colored glazes.
In 1959, the Moscow vase of her work was selected as one of the factory exhibits at the International Exhibition of Ceramics in Ostend (Belgium) [2]. The organizers of the exhibition appreciated this work, marking its author with a Silver Medal.
Her brush belongs to the fresco of the plafond of the Central Theater of the Soviet Army.
The artist's works are in the collections of museums:
Tretyakov Gallery
Russian Museum
Timiryazev Museum
Lithuanian Art Museum (Vilnius)
Ariana Museum (Switzerland)
State Museum of Arts named after I.V.Savitsky (Uzbekistan)
State Art Museum of the Moldavian SSR (Chisinau) [2]
Her works are included in the Konakovsky faience fund of the State Museum of Ceramics in Moscow (Kuskovo).
Olga Malysheva worked in genre and animal sculpture. She lived in Moscow. She passed away in 2004.
