About the artists: After graduating from high school, he took painting lessons from Felix Wygzywalski for some time. In 1939 he entered the State Institute of Plastic Arts in Lviv. Among the teachers are Mykola Fedyuk and Mykhailo Osinchuk. After graduating from art studies, she taught drawing for some time at the Secondary Vocational Women's School in Lviv. At the same time, in 1944, he became a member of the Union of Fine Artists.She received her art education at the Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts in Lviv in 1943, and at the Rochester Institute of Technology in the art department.Until 1949 she lived in Austria and Germany - Augsburg, where she began to illustrate children's books, from 1949 - in the United States. Paintings on religious ("Icon of the Mother of God", 1981) and symbolist ("Two Worlds", 1975; "In the Whirlpool of Life", 1986; "Siberia") themes; genre paintings: "Ukrainian Mother on the Edge of Two Worlds", 1976; "Famine in Ukraine in 1932-33", 1980; "Ukraine Today", 1980; "Mother of God returns on Christmas Day" with children to Ukraine ", 1989, etc.), landscapes: (" Church of St. Nicholas in Kryvchytsia ", 1978); portraits (daughter of Orissa, 1980; husband, 1983); still lifes: ("My favorite flowers", 1979; "Poppies in the garden", 1980), etc. Works in the following technique: enamel, ceramics, linocuts, portraits, photography, silk printing.
In 1987, "Creativity of I. Banakh-Tverdokhlib" with reproductions of paintings and other genres of art was published in Ukrainian and English. Among her works: "Ukraine Today","To freedom","Famine in Ukraine.
1932—1933»,"The Way of the Cross of the Ukrainian Mother".
