Suzani, Uzbekistan, Early 20th C. Yellow silk embroidered suzani, traditionally crafted by Central Asian brides as part of their dowry, held great cultural significance. These intricately embroidered textiles, often presented to grooms on their wedding day, later adorned the interiors of nomadic tribe tents. Suzanis typically feature a cotton or silk fabric base, embellished with exquisite silk or cotton thread embroidery. Motifs such as flowers tulips, carnations, and the symbolic pomegranate representing fertility are commonly woven into these beautiful creations. Size: 100'' x 69'' (254 x 175 cm).
