Description
A decorative Japanese brass wall fan decorated with a large repousse image of a phoenix bird. On the left side of the fan, there is an inscription in Japanese. Circa 1970s. The Japanese phoenix is called Hoodo and it literally means Immortal Bird. Unlike the Western phoenix, the Japanese phoenix is not reborn, but appears once every thousand years.
