FIRST EDITION OF THE BOOK APPEARANCES OF THESE LAWS. Laws concerning slavery on pp. 124-126, 158, including the repeal of an 1817 law prohibiting the introduction of slaves to certain areas, but also the introduction of a law prohibiting the sale of “free persons of color” into slavery. Also there is a resolution to condemn the abolition of slavery in Ohio, reaffirming the constitutional right to have slaves in the South. Laws concerning the removal of Native Americans from their ancestral lands on pp. 188-81, 190 (these laws were clear precursors to the “Trail of Tears” ethnic cleansing and forced displacement of native peoples).
