The first book is a first-edition copy of "Fighters Up" by Eric Friedheim and Samuel W. Taylor. Philadelphia: Macrae-Smith Co., 1945. First Edition. Octavo, 275pp. Signed on the frontispiece entitled "Four Aces in One Group." Deckled edges and photographs throughout. Oatmeal cloth bound boards with titling at the spine. No dustjacket present.
The second book is a Second Edition copy of "Gabby: A Fighter Pilot's Life" by Francis Gabreski as told to Carl Molesworth. New York: Orion Books, 1991. Second edition. Octavo, 277pp. Signed on the half-title page. Publisher's quarter binding with the original dustjacket. The first volume has sunning to the spine and edges, with bumped corners and spine edges.

Francis Stanley "Gabby" Gabreski (1919-2002) was an American career pilot in the U.S. Air Force and the top American and U.S. Army Air Force fighter ace during World War II. He is one of only seven U.S. combat pilots to become an ace in two wars, the Second World War and the Korean War.
