1910 Baseball Photo From Ohio, To Marquand!
Photograph

A photographic postcard depicting a team of ten young baseball players, with two officials on either side dressed in white shirts and straw boater hats. 1p, measuring 3.5" x 5.375", Warsaw, Ohio, dated July 25, 1910. Expected toning and bumped corners throughout, with isolated soiling verso. Light silvering to image, not affecting visibility. Bearing various philatelic markings on verso. Else, a very good example.

The players have stacked their bats in a triangle formation, where they sit or stand behind them, with their uniforms showing a monogrammed "W", possibly for "Warsaw". Featuring a brief correspondence on verso addressed to one Mrs. Marquand of Roswell, Ohio, likely a relative of MLB pitcher Rube Marquand. Indeed, the seated man in the dark uniform bears an uncanny resemblance!

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
