Description
Emile Puiforcat, Paris, from 1857, 950 sterling standard. Six pieces including coffee pot, teapot, chocolate pot, creamer, sugar, and hot water kettle-on-stand. Each in the Rococo style, ornately decorated with a repousse shell and acanthus motif, monogrammed on each side, 172.45 ozt. total weight
Condition
Coffee pot: 10 1/4 in. H, 24.9 ozt. Handle is detached at the bottom and needs to be resoldered. Two feet are bent causing the pot to sit unevenly. The same feet with some splits to the silver as a result of the damage. Cover is a little loose at the hinge. Teapot: 8 1/8 in. H, 19.35 ozt. Handle is a little loose at the insulators. Insulators are replaced. The body with small pocks and dents. Cover is a little loose at the hinge. Chocolate pot: 10 1/8 in. H, 26.15 ozt. total weight. Cover hinge has been repaired and altered. Cover is detached from the pot, the hinge requires a pin. The underside with a tiny pock and crease. Monogrammed on one side. Creamer: 5 3/4 in. H overall, 8.25 ozt. The underside with a tiny pock, dents around one foot. Sugar: 6 3/4 in. H, 17.6 ozt. The cover with some tiny nicks along the inner rim. The underside with two small shallow dents. One side with tiny dent near the monogram. Kettle-on-stand: 16 3/4 in. H, 76.2 ozt. The base with warped bottom rim, top rim with small dents. The handle is stationary. The body with tiny pocks/dents. Two tiny gouges on one side. Without monogram. The handle with dents. The kettle with different French maker's mark, stamped "Reczka"
