circa 1886
mahogany case with gilt metal decoration, brass 8-day spring-driven time and quarter striking movement with moon phase, signed on the movement and dial, the serial number "411" is listed in the Tiffany & Co. Makers records as being made for Charles Bachelor on December 14th, 1886, Charles Batchelor was an inventor and close associate of American inventor Thomas Alva Edison during much of Edison's career and was involved in some of the greatest inventions and technological developments in history

Condition
Very good overall condition, retains the original finish, movement in need of cleaning, dirty with gummed oil, not running, the strike is working but needs adjustment.
