This framed engraving entitled Archery -- Tom, Jerry and the Fat Knight trying their skill to hit the Bull's Eye is by Richard Cruikshank from 'Finish to the Adventures of Tom, Jerry, and Logic, in their pursuits through Life In and Out of London. P. Egan Published by W. Strange & B. Steill, London, 1829 Robert Cruikshank (1789 – 1856), was a caricaturist, illustrator and portrait miniaturist, the less well-known brother of George Cruikshank, both sons of Isaac Cruikshank. He holds importance as a pioneer in the history of comics for creating several cartoons which make use of narrative sequence and speech balloons Image size: 8.5in x 5in (21cm x 12.5 cm) Frame 16in x 13in (41cm x 33cm)
