This tinted lithographic print is from Curry and Rice on Forty Plates or The Ingredients of Social Life at Our Station in India by Capt. GF Atkinson and published by Day & Son, London 1858 George Francklin Atkinson (1822-1859) was an Officer of the Bengal Engineers and artist, who served with the Bengal Engineers between 1840-59 and witnessed the Sepoy Rebellion of 1857. A profusely illustrated work regarding India in the nineteenth century and providing a satirical insight into occupied India. Size: 11in x 7.5in (28cm x 19cm) Mount: 12in x 15in (30cm x 38cm)
