Subject Hunting scene of 2 Terrier Dogs who are on the scent of a rat who is out of sight just past the basket on the floor.
Title "Terriers Ratting"
Signed in the bottom left corner by the known famous British listed artist George Armfield.
This is a fine example of his work.
A nice small size with the frame being 20 cm high and 22.5 cm wide.
Circa 19th century dated 1867.
Oil on board.
Set in a fine traditional gilt wood frame.
George Armfield 1808-1893 an admired and worldwide familiar artist who was British from the United Kingdom, he painted many animals such as dogs for example.
The current highest price for this artist at auction is 22,500 USD that sold at Sotheby's New York in 2008
