Description
This very rare mechanical pencil was made in the late 1930s as a high-end souvenir for the 1939 World's Fair in New York. It features a yellow bakelite body with World's Fair building images printed on opposing diagonals. Top to bottom, figures include Heinz Dome, US Government Building, Hall of Communications, "EGYPT" Pavillion, Administration Building, with Trylon and Perisphere at bottom over blue band. Applied metal clip on upper body. Above body, cylindrical metal casing with inset rounded eraser. Conical metal end for pencil lead. Good original condition with minor wear according to age. Measures approx. 5 1/4" x 3/8" in diameter.
