Do not know if front cover is leather or faux leather material. Decorated endpapers with no writing inside or out, no former owner bookplate or inscription. Finely detailed frontis with tissue protector, sepia colored illustrated & decorative title page. Published by T.Y. Crowell & Co., Boston. Photogravures by A.W. Elson & Co., Boston. Gilt upper page edges. Small, compact size book measures 4"W x 6"L x 7/8" H.
Book is beautiful,very good + to near fine condition. Corners lightly bumped, turned in; stain & minor wear to lower corner back cover; some wear to spine and left 1/4 front cover;ink stain on back cover w. other minor staining, minor wear along edge by spine; minor stains along bottom edge front cover; few minor discolorations along joint on half title page, & along joint on back of frontis; minor ink mark on fore edge of Contents page. Binding tight w. no missing, loose or torn pages. Text block unusually bright for a book of this age w. barely noticeable toning.
