A fine old carved wooden mask in a zoomorphic form known as Zamble, a mythical male being whose form fuses antelope and leopard features. Such representations are owned by certain families that use them along with sacrificial offerings proposed by diviners to improve their well-being and ward off illness and malevolent spirits. Guro peoples, Ivory Coast, West Africa. The mask is well handled and worn and measures 17 x 5 inches. A display stand can also be included for an additional $50.00.
