1st Class Set with Swords. Sash Badge, 90x55 mm., in gilt Silver with red enameled cross and crossed swords between the arms, red enameled centre medallion with white enameled Royal cipher, within a green eameled outer circlet with the order`s motto in gold lettering, Bulgarian, Royal crown with polychrome enameled "jewels and red enameled inner cap, round suspension ring, with the original, full length sash. Breast Star, 85 mm., with diamond-cut and pierced silver and gilt-silver superimposed rays, the centre, like the obverse of the sash badge, polished and frosted reverse with four retaining nuts and a small centre disc, vertical pin. In the original, red case of issue, the lid with gold embossed royal cipher of King Ferdinand I and indication of the class. This decoration was awarded to General der FlakArtillerie (Luftwaffe) K. A. HAUBOLD on 29 April 1943, then Commanding General of Luftgau III/IV (Berlin), with a transcript (Abschrift) in German from the Reichminister der Luftfahrt and a period CPA portrait of General Karl Alfred Haubold (1887-1969). An extraordinary set, of great rarity and very interesting provenance, in best condition! I RR!
