Star Wars: Original Trilogy (1977 - 1983) is comprised of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi, directed by George Lucas, Irvin Kershner, and Richard Marquand, respectively, and star Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher. Luke Skywalker is in a galactic conflict between the Empire and Rebel Alliance. He trains under Yoda to become a Jedi master, and saves the galaxy from the Empire by redeeming Darth Vader. Star Wars was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won three; Empire was nominated for four Academy Awards and won two; and Jedi was nominated for five Academy Awards and won one.
