A Meissen figure of a falconer, circa 1745

Modelled by J.F. Eberlein, J.G. Ehder and J.J. Kaendler, holding a hooded falcon on his left hand and holding his tricorn hat in the right, wearing a green-lined white jacket with gilt buttons and edging, pale yellow gloves, white breeches and black boots, the base applied with leaves and flowers, 17.7cm high (minor damage)

The modelling of the figure was by begun by Eberlein in January 1744 and completed the following month. Ehder modelled the falcon the same month, and the figure was corrected by Kaendler in October 1744 and sent for moulding. Another example is illustrated by U. Pietsch, Porzellan Parforce Jagdliches Meißner Porzellan (2005), cat. no. 8.

The right half of the black bow securing his wig at the rear is chipped.
There is a tiny flat chip to the edge of the headdress of the falcon, and some miniscule specks of wear around the top edge.
The bottom of his sword is broken off, and there are two small spots of flaking to the black enamel of the scabbard.
There is a small area of flaking to the green on the inner lining of his coat above his right knee.
There is a small flat chip to the top of his right boot at the front.
There is a small flake of green enamel lacking to his coattail at the rear.
A tiny flake of black enamel is lacking to the top of his tricorn hat.
There is a tiny chip to two leaves on the base, and one has a very small flake of green enamel lacking.
Otherwise in good condition.

Die rechte Seite der schwarzen Schleife auf seiner Perücke ist bestossen.
Der Kopfschmuck des Falken hat eine winzige flache Bestossung aif der Seite und einige winzige Bereibungen am oberen Rand.
Das untere Teil des schwerts ist abgebrochen. Auf der Schwertscheide befinden sich zwei kleine Abblätterungen der schwarzen Emailfarbe.
Es gibt eine kleine Abblätterung der grünen Emailfarbe auf der Innenseite seiner Jacke über seinem rechten Knie.
Der rechten Stiefel hat eine kleine flache Bestossung vorne am oberen Rand.
Es gibt eine kleine Abblätterung der grünen Emailfarbe hinten auf seinem Frackschoß.
Eine winzige Abblätterung der schwarzen Emailfarbe fehlt oben auf dem Dreizpitz.
Zwei Blätter am Sockel haben je eine winzige Bestossung; eine davon hat eine kleine Abblätterung der grünen Emailfarbe.
Sonst in gutem Zustand.
