The Plea

Adolphe Lalauze (1838-1906), a French etcher and illustrator. He was born in Rive-de-Gier, France, and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He is best known for his illustrations of historical and literary subjects. He was a member of the Société des Aquafortistes and the Société des Peintres Graveurs Français. His work is held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Louvre, and the British Museum.
