Lot consists of miscellaneous British military and royal material 1855-1953 including two soldier’s account books: one for soldier John Bain, vellum cover, for 1855-1859, and another for Henry McCormack, Royal Artillery, leather cover, 1877-1882, along with his 1886 discharge. Also included are a WWI printed welcome from George V to American soldiers sent to a Pennsylvania address and a Red Cross postcard to the same announcing a soldier’s safe arrival. Also, a printed 1918 letter from the King to a wounded or ill soldier wishing him a safe return home; 1953 cover printed cover letter for a medal for her coronation, facsimile signature of Gladstone dated 1883, and musical program for March 1864 baptism of Prince Albert Victor of Wales. Gladstone document with JSA ALOA. CONDITION: Very good overall. Soldier account books are rolled. One is missing the cloth tie. Bain’s unit is in faint pencil. Otherwise both are fully legible.
