Temple of Edfou, the ancient Appolinopolis of Upper Egypt. The antique Lithograph is after the landscape painting by David Roberts R.A. (1796-1864, born in Stockbridge, near Edinburgh) and was created by Belgian engraver Louis Hague (1806-1885) and published by F. G. Moon in London between 1842 and 1849. "Egypt and Holy Land" series, lithographs by Louis Haghe, who would figured prominently in the success. The Belgium-born Louis Haghe is the un-sung hero of the art works. Haghe followed Roberts's original sketches closely.
