Description
Art prints ( 2) on silk, entitled "Bear Hunting in the Sierra Mountains" by Felix Octavius Carr Darley (1822-1888). These steel engraved prints measure 11"x 16" and are slightly water stained, but not on the picture itself. Darley was well regarded in his day, even contracting with Edgar Allan Poe to illustrate his detective story "The Gold Bug." He also created the first artwork in 1848 for Washington Irving's "Rip Van Winkle" almost 30 years later. Please see photos for more details. Philadelphia Pennsylvania
