He was discharged in 1849 and went searching for gold in California. In this book, he describes his experiences during the Gold Rush and the early history of California. 172 pages plus advertisements. This is a good copy in its original cloth binding. Spine ends corners chipped, top of joint cracked, front hinge loose, circular erasure mark on title page, otherwise good condition. 5 x 8 inches. California
