A plein air painter, Selman is known for her landscapes and seascapes in the Boston School tradition. Her technique of painting on-site results in textural, spontaneous brushwork, as with Impressionist works. Selman grew up in East Texas, and has lived and worked in Boston, Massachusetts; Ocracoke, North Carolina; and Round Rock, Texas. In addition to landscapes, Selman’s repertoire includes still life, florals, and pastel work. She has exhibited work throughout the United States, most notably earning Best in Show at the Franklin Art Association in Southport, North Carolina, and Jurors’ Choice at the Copley Society of Artists in Boston.
