Middle to New Kingdom, Ca. 1800 - 1550 BC.
An Egyptian dagger of type VI according to the classification of S. Petschel. This dagger is of a very rare type, with a complete wooden organic grip. It bears two pommel rivets decorated with golden rosettes. A golden ring sits placed on the grip near the calcite pommel. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
Size: 290mm x 50mm; Weight: 215g
Provenance: Property of a European collector; formerly with English art gallery; Ex. Hans Blaser collection, Switzerland, 1970s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
