Late to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC.
A Egyptian amulet of a crowned horus with the body of a Cicada. The amulet is made out of jade and is perforated on the back. The fly amulet, known as the "Tyet" or "Knot of Isis," was one of the many types of protective amulets used by the ancient Egyptians. It is often depicted as a stylised knot, resembling the shape of a fly or butterfly.
