A rare bronze Etruscan bronze set composed of a shallow bowl and a large spoon with a long and conical handle. These types of instruments were used in Etruscan society for propitiatory rituals or ceremonial banquets, wooden objects being preferred for daily life. Bronze in Etruscan society, when polished, resembled and shone like gold, which in ancient societies was associated with the gods.

Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
