A Roman carnelian intaglio depicting a bust of woman facing right. Set in a high carat (18 ct), possibly later gold ring. A round hoop, with a fine intaglio, likely produced by the workshops in Rome. For similar see: El Legado de Hefesto n. 413 and 341. This piece has undergone X-ray fluorescence analysis to confirm the metallurgical content suggesting its ancient origin and lack of modern trace elements.
