Northern Wei Dynasty, Ca. AD 386 - 534.
A Chinese terracotta horse. It is a fully caparisoned standing horse with splayed saddle cloth and folded materials on the horseback, tassels dropping from the neck with bells worn on its chest. The eyes and bridle have been made with exceptional details. This piece has been precisely dated using a Thermo Luminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot.

Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
