Description

American. C. 1906. Self-framed tin lithographed sign (SST). One of the great self-framed tin signs featuring the Hickman-Ebbert Wagon Company of Owensboro, Kentucky. Titled, "In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree". A stunning lithographic image from the golden age of advertising. Marked, "Chas. W. Shonk Co. Litho. Chicago. No. C. 1028", lower right corner. Marked, "Design by U.S.G. Clemens, Copyright 1906", lower left corner. 25.5" x 37.5" x 0.75".

Condition

Excellent condition. Outstanding, large, early. No restoration. Two minor flakes above the hay wagon. One 1" diagonal scratch extends from the upper left edge of the field. Minor knicks and flakes from the framed surface. Excellent overall.
