Gath lived in Washington D.C. in 1945 and Fenton, Michigan in 1958. She studied at the Flint Institute of the Arts School with Jaroslav Brozik; Corcoran School of the Arts with Richard Lahey, Eugen Weisz, Heinz Warneke, and Peggy BAcon.
