A GEORGE III MAHOGANY TWO-LEAF FIRE SCREEN, CIRCA 1770, set with 19th century needlework panels, the frame raised on turned supports and stretchers.
115cm high x 52cm wide x 2cm deep
Provenance: From a collection of furniture and antiques left to the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB ) in 1939 by Evelyn Stannus of Kensington. Items in the collection are believed to have come from Ireland. Since 1939 many objects from the collection have been on loan to the National Trust and this item has been displayed at Montacute House.
