About the artist: He was born on October 6, 1943 in Moscow. In 1957-1962 he studied at the art studio of the House of Pioneers of the Timiryazevsky District of Moscow, which was led by Vasily Alexandrovich Voronin [2]. In his youth, he was acquainted with the artist A. I. Laktionov and was influenced by his manner of painting. At the age of 15, he lost his father, was forced to go to a school of working youth, and earned money [2]. In 1968-1973, he studied at the Moscow Art Theater named after V.I. Surikov. Participated in exhibitions of young artists. The graduation work was 4 portraits of astronauts (A. V. Shatalov and others) [2] - the result of work in Star City. In 1976 he became a member of the USSR Union of Artists. In 1977, he received the Lenin Komsomol Prize for a series of portraits of astronauts [2].
Since 1997 - corresponding member (since 2001 - full member) of the Russian Academy of Arts.
