John Finnie Signed Oil on Canvas - Tavern Scene

Oil on canvas by John Finnie, a late 19th century Scottish painter. The initials RSA under his name on the canvas suggests that this painting was one of those which he exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy in the 1880s.

This example of his work is of a tavern scene, with people in middle age dress. The painting was applied in period with a varnish on top, whiach has cracked in the intervening 140 years.
