Description
Antique Early Sunderland Pink Lustreware Teapot
Pink Lustreware porcelain teapot from the early 1800s, made in England. These porcelain sets with the trademark pink pearlescent designs were popular among middle-class people in England at the time, and were a result of innovations in glaze and firing techniques. This teapot is believed to be from the 1820s - 1840s.
There are some small chips on the lid and spout, as well as some crazing. The teapot is in otherwise good condition for its age, and the joints all have the trademark blue hue of soft paste porcelain, dating this teapot to the early period of Sunderland pink lustreware.
Approximate size: 8.5" x 5" x 5.5"
