French Helvetic Singing Bird Cage Automaton (Paris, ca. 1900) Bird with yellow feathers on metal perch. Round brass cage with decorative banding handle stamped "F302". Helvetic stamp on base. 10 1/2 in. (26.7 cm.) Provenance: From the collection of Frank J. Locuratolo, Mount Vernon, New York; member of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors
Condition
One screw along case base is a modern replacement. Cage needs re-set into base on one side. One vertical cage wire is a later replacement; the thickness and finish of this wire does not match the others. Condition reports are available upon request.
