ABOUT THE ART

After connecting over lockdown, Mira Mikati teamed up with Spanish artist Javier Calleja to bring us some much-needed post-Covid joy. From their new friendship comes a shared whimsical aesthetic and a playful nostalgia that brings humour and colour to your wardrobe. You can also expect the wide-eyed characters Javier has become known for and our love for slogans displayed across coats, knitwear, shirts and T-shirts.

ARTIST BIO

In March 2021, Javier Calleja’s secondary-market record broke US$1 million for the first time, when his 2019 painting 'Waiting for a While' sold for HK$8.8 million (US$1.1 million).

Though he draws on personal experience and childhood memories to create his iconic characters, Calleja prefers not to explain his work, instead letting the observer “finish” the work with their own interpretations.
