Description
Rare and important vase with oak leaves Emile Galle, Nancy, 1896 Colourless glass with green-yellowish marbling, with mottled stripes of powder melting in malachite green and overlaid in orange-brown. All-round high-cut decoration: oak branches in the wind with leaves and acorns. Border drawing in flat etching. The remaining surface has been reworked with fine martele structures. On the lower wall inscribed in engraving: Galle. H. 21 cm. Cf. decor: B. Klesse/H. Mayr, Glass from Art Nouveau to the present day - Gertrud and Dr. Karl Funke-Kaiser Collection, p. 232, no. 154.
