Van Deusen was in charge of the Air Liason section at General Sitwell's Advance Headquarters', during which 'his exemplary sense of duty and reliability were most noteworthy' the Procedure for the Investiture on board H.M.S Sheffield, on 23rd July 1948, where 14 further Americans were awarded decorations, with a total of three O.B.Es, for Col. R. Fullerton, III, Lt. Col. G.H. Van Deusen, and Dr. Richard C. Tolman, and further paperwork with envelopes, including the original invitation to the Investiture, a description of the medal, the Warrant of Appointment, and the signed grant by George VI
