c. 1754 / 1755 French Sevres hand painted porcelain hinged box. Hand painted cobalt blue with raised gilt roses along front and back. Hand painted lid of a courting couple , signed H. LERAS lower right. Raised gilt dot pattern as a border. An oval hinged box with decorative brass trim. Measures 7 x 4.5 in. Height 2.75 in. Interior is white with hand painted flowers under lid. Some discoloration along glaze crazing. Sevres mark with a center letter B indicates 18th century c. 1754.Additional token imbedded into porcelain is marked L. B. Paris - Made in France- with Sevres mark. Glaze crazing consistent with age and exposure. No chips.
