Original WWII 1941-1942 "Don't Let Him Down" Poster. The original art was created by Lester Beall. The framed poster is approx 26 1/2" x 3/4" x 40" and weighs 10lbs. The poster is approx 25" x 28". The framed poster is in a good, vintage condition with some creases and wrinkles on the poster. The frame has wear and scratches, while the glass has markings and sticker residue. Lester Beall (1903 – 1969) was the first graphic artist to be honored by a one-man exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (in 1937) and was awarded the 1983 Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Deeply influenced by the European avant-garde in the 1930’s, Beall synthesized its forms for the American business community and was a pioneer in the development of advertising, corporate identity design, packaging, and print media during the post-war decades.
