Gilt Wooden Shan Buddha - The position of the Buddha is sitting with legs crossed at the ankles, with his right hand on the knee and the left in his lap. This position is better known as Vajrasana and the Bhumispara Mudra. The meaning behind this sitting position is usually interpreted as the Buddha calling the earth to witness his good deeds in front of Mora. This represents the moment of the Buddha's enlightenment. The head with elongated earlobes, with a finial "ushnisha". Measures 6”h x 5.5”w. Item comes from the collection of Timothy Koock. Ships from Austin, Tx.
