Edwardian Triple Diamond Engagement Ring, Platinum Over Gold, Sz. 6, .25 CTW, turn-of-the-century ring with open work and high filigree design. Three Old Cut diamonds that together total appx. .25 ctw cross the top of the finger. Miligraine open work around the ring with an open frame around the edges. The ring is appx. 6.5mm down the finger and 14.5mm across the top of the finger. The three diamonds are Old Cut with the high pavillion and short table. They are set into a well like setting with subtle prongs in the square setting they fit into.The band is appx. 2mm at the very top of the shoulders where it meets the filigree and tapers to 1.1mm at the back of the finger. This ring is platinum over 10kt white gold. Great vintage engagement ring with a plus 100 year history and in very good condition. The diamonds are H or above in color and the cut is typical of old cuts that were often cut without proper lighting - angles are different than today. Very appealing antique ring. It is not marked or signed but has been tested repeated times and also sold at the estate auction as platinum and gold. (W6422.28X SS7601 J LD 6/30/22).
