Description

A famous vintage "RAR" (Rocking Chair on Rod) designed by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller. Original 1st generation fiberglass shell seat, circa early 1960s. Embossed "Herman Miller" and logo on underside. The vibrant green upholstery is an original fabric design by Alexander Girard. Black oxide frame with the walnut runners is a contemporary replacement. The Eames RAR Chair was originally marketed as a rocker chair 'good for young mothers' but it is fair to say it is a favorite corner piece in all kinds of homes today. From a private collection. Dimensions: 26.5"h x 25.5"w x 28"d. In exceptionally good vintage condition.
