Central American Painted Pottery Tripod Vessel, Possibly Nicoya. Painted on the interior in red and black with a roundel of zoomorphic designs, the sides surrounded by geometric-patterned bands and the rim with foliate designs, raised on three splayed legs with a loop at the bowl above a zoomorphic mask, banded in red and reserved with panels of red zigzags, and affixed on the bowl with a larger zoomorphic mask. H: 9.625 in., Diam: 9 in. (top of bowl), 11 in. (across feet)
