The ancient Greeks believed the Rooster rose to attention and saluted the sun every morning with a hearty cry, symbolizing victory over night. The bronze sculpture was produced using the lost-wax technique allowing the artist to create beautiful and realistic details in his plumage. It is coated in a brown patina finish for preservation and mounted upon a black marble base and is signed J.Moigniez.
