This rare vintage 19th century unmarked Meissen porcelain trinket box is truly exceptional. The sculpted "galleon" features a detailed mythical phoenix with outstretched wings embracing the lower end of the ship. The phoenix has a wonderful celadon green color decorated with gold accents. The lid cover depicts a beautiful hand painted scene of a courier serenading a lady ion quality. Upon opening this lid one sees wonderfully hand painted sprays of colorful wild flowers against the stark white background of the box interior. The stern of the vessel has a sculpted raised gold balustrade. The condition is excellent. This stunning porcelain should not be overlooked & will be cherished by someone who adores quality !2 5/8" tall X 5 1/8" long X 2 1/2" wide
