Description
Rarely seen, this 3-pc, 2-tip rod is made from Bethabara wood (as evidenced on a decal above the grip) and features nickel silver tunnel guides, stirrup tip tops with agate inserts, a full nickel silver reel seat with up-sliding band, and a black & white composite handle. Soldered onto the reel seat is an oval disk stamped: "M. A. Shipley, Phila.". There are very fancy red & black wrappings on this rod and the original varnish shows its age. Each section is 34 1/2" long with the second tip being made 20" long. This classic rod comes with a wooden form case with leather end caps and the original tattered canvas sack with black cloth label on the flap.
