Antique French Neoclassical Revival Giltwood Mirror and Upholstered 3-Panel Screen
A sublimely elegant versatile antique French neoclassical 3 panel folding dressing screen. The central panel has hand-carved ornate cresting of a gilded garland topped with crimped ribbon ties, framed over an oval glass covered mounted neoclassical hand colored scene. The side panels are each mirror topped edged in running hand carved gold glided bead and acanthus banding. Acanthus leaf spandrels top the 2 side panels on either side framed in the same carved gilded wood which are square asymmetric mirrored panels with gilt mullions and a lovely nail-head trimmed soft green brocade upholsters the rest of each panel of the screen on the front with the back painted gold.
